5 Mistakes That Make Your Ad Get Ignored

OEADS Team calendar_today January 15, 2026 visibility 936

Why Some Ads Get Attention and Others Do Not

Thousands of ads are posted on OEADS every day. Most get a few views and then disappear into the noise. Here is what separates ads that sell from ads that sit.

Mistake 1 — Bad Photos

A blurry, dark, or cropped photo kills interest instantly. If you are selling a phone, show it powered on with a clear screen. If selling a car, shoot it from the front three-quarter angle in daylight. Do not use screenshots of product images from the internet — buyers want to see the actual item.

Mistake 2 — No Price Listed

Posting "Price on call" makes you look like a dealer trying to gauge the buyer. Set a clear price. If you are flexible, write "Negotiable" or "Slightly negotiable" in the description. Buyers want to know if they can afford your item before they pick up the phone.

Mistake 3 — Vague Description

"Good condition, works fine" is not a description. Include specifics: brand, model, age, condition details, reason for selling, and any accessories included. The more detail you provide, the fewer "what is the condition?" calls you get.

Mistake 4 — Wrong Category

Posting your iPhone in the "Accessories" category or your Corolla in "Other Vehicles" means the right buyers never see it. Choose the exact category and subcategory.

Mistake 5 — Not Refreshing

Old ads get pushed down. If your ad has been up for two weeks without many views, refresh it or repost with updated details. A fresh listing gets more eyeballs.
