Privacy Policy

We collect only the information needed to operate a trusted classifieds marketplace:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), profile photo and city/location.
• Listing content: titles, descriptions, prices, photos, category details and any attributes you provide when posting an ad.
• Messages: communications you send to other users through OEADS messaging, which are stored so conversations persist across devices and can be moderated for safety.
• Transaction data: records of paid packages, promotions and banner advertising purchases (we do not store full card numbers; payments are handled by PCI-compliant gateways).
• Usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, search queries and timestamps, used for analytics, security and service improvement.
• Support data: information you provide when contacting our support team or reporting a listing or user.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we hold such data, we will delete it promptly.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as saved searches and location), measure site performance, prevent fraud and understand how the Platform is used.

• Essential cookies — required for login sessions, security tokens and core functionality. The Platform cannot function without them.
• Analytics cookies — help us count visitors and improve features.
• Advertising cookies — set by us or partners (e.g., Google AdSense) to show relevant ads and limit repeat impressions.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working correctly. Third-party ad networks may also use cookies subject to their own privacy policies; you can opt out of personalised Google advertising via Google Ads Settings.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with third parties who help us run the Platform, in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: hosting providers, SMS/email delivery services, payment processors and analytics tools that process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Advertising partners: ad networks such as Google AdSense may receive cookie-based data to serve ads on our pages.
• Other users: information you make public — such as your display name, listings and profile details — is visible to other users. Your phone number is shared with buyers only when you choose to expose it on a listing.
• Legal requirements: law enforcement, regulators or courts, where disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property and safety of OEADS, its users and the public.
• Business transfers: if OEADS is merged, acquired or restructured, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the Platform, password hashing, access controls limiting staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, CSRF protection, input sanitisation against common web attacks, and continuous monitoring of suspicious activity.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Platform at your own risk. Please help us by choosing a strong, unique password and never sharing it with anyone — OEADS staff will never ask for your password.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

You have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access & correction: view and update the personal information on your account at any time via your profile settings.
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Some data may be retained where required by law, for fraud prevention or for legitimate business record-keeping.
• Objection & restriction: object to certain processing activities, such as marketing communications. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails/SMS using the links provided or by contacting support.
• Data portability: request a copy of the personal data associated with your account in a commonly used format.
• Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
